This weekend we are showcasing the Silver Galaxy Collection at Rowan Studios. Everyone from glass aficionados to sci-fi lovers can have their very own galaxy. Our glass artist Jacqueline creates a variety of pieces in this style including jewelry, wine stoppers, letter openers and collectible, signed galaxy marbles.
Below is a sample of the round Horizon Pendant in the Silver Galaxy Collection.
These glass pieces are hand spun in a torch where the artist uses a fuming technique combining .999 pure silver and 24kt gold to accent bits of silver embedded in the glass. It is the process of layering these metals, along with the heating and cooling of the glass, that shapes a different, unique universe of stars, planets and galaxies in each piece.
