Keep the memories of your loved ones close. Glass memory pieces hand spun at Rowan Studios are a beautiful way to commemorate lost family members and pets.

We will send you a collection kit labeled for your specific piece. It takes less than a quarter of a teaspoon of ashes to create a memory pendant.

Step-by-Step

1. Fill out the request form at the bottom of this page and click submit.

2. You will get an email with an invoice link or a wait-list position depending on current workload. When you get the invoice it will be for a half-down, non-refundable deposit for the Memory Piece. The second half will be due when the finished piece is ready to ship.

3. We will send you a collection kit within 5 business days of your paid deposit.

4. You return the collection kit with the cremains via US Priority Post Express. The $28 (as of May 2020) shipping fee for the Priority Express service is not included in the invoice total.

5. Your memory piece is hand spun at Rowan Studios. Turn around time is usually less than 3 weeks.

6. When the piece is completed, we will invoice you for the second half. Once the balance is paid the memory piece is then shipped to you via US Priority Post with signature confirmation.

Please note: Every piece is hand spun and unique. Your piece will look similar to the sample piece shown on the website, but it will not be an exact replica or match. There will be variations in pattern work, twists, colors and bubbles (or no bubbles).

Shipping of the collection kit and shipping the finished piece is included in the price of the piece. You must pay the additional $28 US Post Priority Express shipping fee to return the collection kit to Rowan Studios. This is the only legal method of shipping cremains in the United States. US Post Rule 451.22.

FAQ

Q. How much ash/cremains do you need for a Memory Pendant?

A. A quarter (¼) of a teaspoon for one memory piece.

Q. Can you return any unused ashes with the pendant?

A. Yes. They will have to be sent US Post Priority Express - so there is an additional $20 shipping fee. Typically, if there are ashes left over, it is a very small amount and they will be scattered locally.

Q. What is the turn around time?

A. Once we have received the cremains/ashes the turn around time is usually 3 weeks or less.

Q. How safe is it to ship these pieces?

A. We have not had a memory piece damaged in shipping to date. The Priority boxes are padded with packing materials to cushion the interior pendant box and piece.

Q. Why is there a waiting list?

A. We can only process a limited number of requests per month and will work through the requests in the order in which they are received. If you have questions about wait list positions or would like an estimate on timing please email us at info@rowan-studios.com

Q. Can you combine cremains in a piece?

A. Yes - just combine the ashes from multiple people or pets before you send us the cremains.

Q: Can you take the ashes back out of the glass?

A: No - once you mix the ash with the glass there is no way to separate it.

Q: Are there other shipping options?

A: No - the only legal way to ship cremains in the US is via US Priority Post Express.

Q. I don’t like the swirls, design patterns or bubbles - can I get my money back?

A. These are handmade pieces that are singular and unique.  While we do not offer refunds for artistic elements you may not like we can offer a discounted price if you would like us to try again. The pieces shown on the web site are samples and your piece will not look exactly the same. There will be variations in bubbles (not all pieces bubble), swirls and colors. Colors can also vary a bit due to monitor or screen settings.

Shipping Information:

Included in the purchase price of your piece is shipping for the collection kit to you via US Priority Post and shipping of the finished piece via US Priority Post with signature confirmation. If you would like any remaining ashes back to you there is an additional $20 surcharge for US Priority Post Express. 

NOT Included is the cost of shipping the collection kit with ashes back to Rowan Studios. This will be around $28 as of May 2020.
