Silver Galaxy N1256JC Disc Bottle Topper
The pieces in the Silver Galaxy Collection are created using borosilicate glass, .999 Silver and 24kt Gold. Bits of silver are embedded in the glass to form the stars and planets. When the piece is reheated in the torch flame the silver gets so hot that it creates a fume. This process forms the base clouds and nebulae. By layering 24kt Gold fume and additional .999 Silver fume, colors ranging the rainbow from copper and green to blue emerge.
All bottletoppers at Rowan Studios are made using stainless steel bases with a rubber gasket. They can be used to bottle anything including wine, liquor, olive oil and vinegar. The stopper will not oxidize, pit or corrode. The Disc Bottletoppers are 4” in length. The glass cabachon set in the stopper is 25mm in diameter.
